Durwood Crawford spoke at the monthly meeting of the Dallas Bar Association (Employment Law Section) on September 21, 2009, and again to the Ft. Worth Bar's Employment Law Section on October 20, 2009. His subject was entitled "Four Underpublicized & Underutilized Important Exceptions to the Texas Employment at Will Rule."

His talk drew attention and discussed how three (3) specific Texas Supreme Court Opinions (that have often been overlooked) can have an impact on the rights of terminated employees who had bonus agreements; commission agreements; or certain pension agreements with their prior employers. One such case he discussed also dealt with how an employer can possibly "waive" the Texas Employment at Will rule.
