Jack Sheedy graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in 1970 as a civil engineer and then attended Seton Hall University in New Jersey to obtain his law degree.   After serving as a Captain in the Army Engineers, he practiced with a large New Jersey trial firm handling product liability cases, engineering and construction cases, and business litigation matters. In 1978, he became Litigation Counsel for Joy Manufacturing Company, a Fortune 300 Company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and obtained a Master’s in Business Administration from Duquesne University. Jack was eventually named Division Counsel for Joy’s core business and also became a Registered Patent Attorney. In 1985, Jack and his family moved to Texas, and he served as Vice President and General Counsel for Curtis Mathes Corporation where he was responsible for all its legal affairs, including franchising and rent-to-own matters. After a year as Vice President and General Counsel for Del Taco Restaurant Corporation, Jack joined GUC&L as a partner and has used his unique background and experiences to help clients obtain their goals. Jack has received Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating of “AV” as well as other honors and recognitions.
